Ford - When Your Lease Contract Ends

Have you been leasing a Ford but now desire to end the contract early? This process is doable, but it takes real know-how and accountability to do it right. Let's look at three of the most common questions about ending a car lease.

1.Ending your lease contract. Now, let's just suppose you get laid off or you want to take your wife on a second honeymoon to ride the rails across the country or some other, perhaps unforeseeable circumstance arises. But, for goodness sake, make sure you can vouch for their reliability by having them give you a copy of their current credit report. You do not want to have this process bite you in the end.

If you do choose to break your Ford lease in this way, you will pay a fee to do this. Don't be taken by surprise as it could be several hundred dollars. There are penalties in life for ending contracts early and this is one of them!

Also, make sure the car is in the best condition possible both mechanically and cosmetically. You sure don't want the new lessee having any problems immediately after the switch.

2.What if I want to buy the Ford when the lease is up?

When your lease is up, you may suddenly realize you love this car and you want to make it your own permanently. Always remember, Ford stands to only gain by selling the car to you. That way, they can avoid taking a loss on a pre-owned car when they try to get rid of it. The value of the car is, the "residual value." It's what the car is worth, and it's negotiable with the company.

3.What about additional charges at the end of the lease? You can avoid feeling intimidated on the day you turn in the car. Do all you can ahead of time to make sure the car is looking good so it passes the leaser's inspection. If you continually keep the car in top condition and do the preventative maintenance checks throughout the length of the lease, you'll fair very well. Keep all maintenance records. Also, make sure you have stayed as near to the mileage allowance as much as possible that your contract permits.

Probably the best way to avoid leasing problems is to have a great lease from the get go. That way, you can enjoy your ride without any anxiety about the day your lease ends however that may occur.
