Ford - When Your Lease Contract Ends

Have you been leasing a Ford but now desire to end the contract early? This process is doable, but it takes real know-how and accountability to do it right. Let's look at three of the most common questions about ending a car lease.

1.Ending your lease contract. When your lease is up, you may suddenly realize you love this car and you want to make it your own permanently. Always remember, Ford stands to only gain by selling the car to you. That way, they can avoid taking a loss on a pre-owned car when they try to get rid of it. The value of the car is, the "residual value." It's what the car is worth, and it's negotiable with the company.

3.What about additional charges at the end of the lease? You can avoid feeling intimidated on the day you turn in the car. Do all you can ahead of time to make sure the car is looking good so it passes the leaser's inspection. If you continually keep the car in top condition and do the preventative maintenance checks throughout the length of the lease, you'll fair very well. Keep all maintenance records. Also, make sure you have stayed as near to the mileage allowance as much as possible that your contract permits.

Probably the best way to avoid leasing problems is to have a great lease from the get go. That way, you can enjoy your ride without any anxiety about the day your lease ends however that may occur.

The data about teenage drivers are not very good. Add your teen driver on your policy. Instead of having a single policy on your teen driver, add them to your policy as an additional driver. This will pass on any discount that is currently on your policy to them.
Register them in a driver education course. There are discounts available for teen drivers who take certain driving classes. Before you do this call your insurance company to find the best courses to enroll in, this will save you from paying big bucks for a course that may not be acceptable.
Boycott the sports. Sometimes parents may try to live vicariously through their teenager by buying them the hot/fast sports car that they couldn't get in when they were the same age. Focus on getting your teen driver a clean, reliable and safe vehicle in doing so you will get lower premiums. This tactic will also diminish the temptation for your teen to drive fast.
Get them to pitch in. Explain to your teen driver that auto insurance costs money and how it is in the family's budget. Provide them the opportunity to assist in chores to help cut the costs associated with their car insurance. If nothing else this tactic may allow them to feel you are treating them like an adult.
Communicate the dangers of drinking and driving. This in itself is a tough topic to discuss especially to a teenager who already feels like they have everything figured out and under control. Just take some time and explain to them how this issue is of great importance to their and others safety.
Use traffic school to if needed. If your teen driver does get a ticket on his/her license, encourage them to attend traffic school to keep the violation and points against their license removed.
Take a ride with them. Your teenager may have been a safe driver last year when they obtained their license however don't assume that bad driving habits have not slipped in since then. So jump in the care with them and take a ride to the store, the movies, etc. This will give you a great opportunity to observe their driving habits in a non-confrontational way. If you see them breaking some good driving habits then point it out in a diplomatic way. More importantly praise them for the good driving even more.

2013 Toyota Avalon Sedan: An exciting value priced Lexus

The Avalon is the largest car that Toyota builds. Additionally, new model is the automaker's first car that is designed, engineered, built, sold and serviced completely in America.

So what does the fifth-generation 2013 Toyota Avalon Sedan bring to the highway?

It is a five-passenger (six-passenger if equipped with the optional front bench seat) four-door front-wheel drive sedan available in XL and XLS models. It shares the same platform with the new 2013 Lexus ES 350 Sedan.

The engine is a 3.5-liter V6-cylinder providing 268 hp and 248 ft. lb. of torque. The transmission is a six-speed automatic with Eco, Normal and Sport modes. Additionally, the car includes shift paddles on the steering wheel. This sedan's 0-60 mph time is in 7.3 seconds.

The Avalon's wheelbase measures 111 inches and the trunk has 16 cubic feet of cargo space. The car's fuel tank holds 18 gallons and its highway cruising range is 550 miles.

Compared with the last model, this new Avalon has a tighter, sportier and more exciting exterior.

At the front the windshield is well raked and curved as it travels back. The hood is broad and it has V shaped cut lines at the hood's edges. The headlights are curved slit units that move back into the front fenders. The grille is a thin unit outlined in chrome. Below the bumper there is a large trapezoidal shape air intake. Black angled insets at the corners house round driving lights.

The Avalon's side profile is long and sleek. It has a coupe like shape including a low roof line (it looks similar to the Lexus ES 350). The upper glass has limited height and accentuates the height of the doors. There is a beveled cut line located just above the door handles as well as a cut line below the door handles. The front and rear fenders are slightly flared at the edges. Otherwise the look is flat and smooth. The front headlights and rear taillights are visible in the fenders.

At the rear the Avalon has a broad and solid look. The trunk deck lid includes a spoiler lip at the top. The LED taillights are trim horizontal units that extend into the trunk and into the rear fenders. Furthermore, a classy looking chrome insert is fitted in between the taillights. A black insert down low contains oval racetrack shaped exhausts at the edges.

The interior of the Avalon includes leather and other luxurious materials. The car's overall fit and finish is excellent. Information is provided to the driver by an open pod that includes a large round tachometer on the left and a speedometer on the right. The temperature and fuel gauges are located at the bottom of the tachometer and speedometer. Digital information is displayed in between the two round gauges. The dash is a bi-level piece that includes distinctive details. There is a 6.1 inch touchscreen centered in the dash. The front bucket seats are broad, comfortable and have moderate side bolstering. The rear provides extensive legroom and room to seat up to three adults.

The brakes are discs at all four corners measuring 11.6 inches at the front and 11 inches at the rear. The Avalon's 60-0 mph stopping distance is in 118 feet. The tires measure 215 55 17 inch. Larger 255 45 18 inch tires are also available.

The suspension at the front includes MacPherson struts, coil springs, gas shock absorbers and a stabilizer bar. At the rear the setup includes multi-links, coil springs, gas shock absorbers and a stabilizer bar.

Standard features on this Toyota include 4-way power driver and passengers seats, air conditioning, power door locks, windows and mirrors, remote power door locks, cruise control, power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, external temperature display, front and rear cup holders, remote trunk release, retained accessory power, electronic speed-proportional power steering, 12 volt power outlets, interior air filter, front and rear reading lights, 8-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 stereo with Sirius XM satellite radio with Bluetooth hands-free phone, auxiliary audio input and iPod integration, radio data system, pre-wired for phone, USB connection and more.

Standard safety features include four-wheel ABS brakes, front and rear head air bags, dual front side-mounted air bags, passenger air bag sensing deactivation, child seat anchors, rear door child safety locks, remote anti-theft alarm system, engine immobilizer, electronic brake assist, electronic brakeforce distribution, stability and traction control, tire pressure monitoring and more.

The fuel rating for this mid-size Toyota is 21 city and 31 mpg highway.

On the road the Avalon offers good acceleration, sporty handling and good ride quality. The car especially excels on the highway as it is a comfortable cruiser. Overall, this top of the line Toyota is an impressive sedan that is highly polished and will provide many years of driving enjoyment.

The 2013 Toyota Avalon's price will start at close to $34,000. Look for this Toyota to be in dealership showroom by August 2012.
